Ganesh Bahadur Gurung

Founder/Managing Director

Ganesh Bahadur Gurung started Great Himalayan Holidays from the year 2072 and he has about twenty-eight years of experience in the travel industry and has guided over 500 groups in Nepal, Tibet, Ladakh and Bhutan. He started as a porter in the initial phase of his career and has also climbed "Chulu East" mountain during his time. Later he took a number of trainings and learned French in order to be a French guide.

Chandra Gurung

Field Manager

Chandra Gurung is originally from Gorkha in the manasalu region. He worked as a porter and cook in trekking from 1990 to  1992.

• 1993-1997: Worked in Yatri Travel as Assistant Ticketing officer
• 1999-2002: Worked as Operation Manager in Mandala Trekking Pvt. Ltd
• 2003-2010: Worked as a Trekking Manager in Base Camp Trekking
• 2010-2017: Hotel operated in Dharmasala to enhance more tourism sector
• 2010- Present: Running a Windy Valley and Garden which was handed over to Samdo villagers in 2018
• 2010-Present: Working as Marketing Director in Great Mountain Holidays
• March, 2010: Trained 56 local peoples of Manaslu Region, cooking training ( Personal inn)
