Trekking between 2,600 m to 5,550 meter overlooking the mountains and reaching to the breathtaking viewpoint of Kala Patthar is full of scenic beauty and amazement. The trail follows some of the typical Sherpa villages and ascent to the famous hub of Namche Bazaar. An interesting flight followed by dozens of towering mountains around including the superstar Mt. Everest. Each moment is full of mountain impressions and diverse landscapes.

Climbing a peak in Nepal is a dream come true for many. In the south of massive Lhotse mountain is an island mountain called Island Peak rising above the valley. An Ascent to the peak at 6,189 m is a basic climbing experience in Nepal.

Itinerary - Day by day

Day 1. Kathmandu: 1400 m

Arrival in Kathmandu Airport and transfer to hotel

  Drive: 25 minutes


Day 2. Kathmandu

A day of rest or options for sightseeing tours or city walk and enjoy areas around the hotel.


Day 3. Lukla: 2860 m - Phakding: 2610 m

Drive to Ramechhap to take a flight of 25-minute flight to Lukla. Lukla is the gateway to Everest Area. A gentle trek through lush green forest beside icy Dudh Koshi river. Arrive Phakding.

Ascent 270 m - descent 500 m.

  Drive: 4-5 hours

  3 hours


Day 4. Namche: 3400m

Prepare for a challenging day of trekking. An enchanting trek through the forest, waterfalls and amazing landscapes. Arrive Namche.

Ascent 1,100 m - descent 310 m.

Day 5. Mountain sightseeing and pleasure walking

Rest or a day for acclimatization in Namche.
Hike around the villages of Khumjung and Everest View Trek.


Day 6. Tengboche: 3860 m - Deboche: 3710 m

A pleasant  trekking day with lots of impressions of mountains, rivers and ups and downs of the mountain trail. Sights of Everest, Lhotse and Ama Dablam are breathtaking. Visit famous monastery of Tengboche and stay in Deboche.

Ascent 985 m - descent 700 m.

  6-7 hours


Day 7. Dingboche: 4410 m

Gentle trek to begin, visit oldest monastery in the region. Trek pass Panboche and Shomare to reach to Dingboche.

Ascent 870 m - descent 420 m.

  6 hours


Day 8. Dingboche: 4410 m

A fantastic day of hiking overlooking the views of Kangtega, Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Lobudhe and Taboche. Hike back to Dingboche to stay.

Ascent 680 m - descent 680 m.

  4-6 hours


Day 9. Lobuche: 4910 m

Ascending trek to Dugla and further trek up to Thokla Pass where a ground of memorial is dedicated to those who lost their lives during the expeditions. The area is surrounded by Pumori (7,161 m), Nuptse (7,861 m) and Lhotse (8,516 m). Trek relatively lateral to the Lobuche.

Ascent 640 m - descent 140 m.

  5-6 hours


Day 10. Gorakshep: 5140 m

Trail beyond 5,000 m is relatively lateral. Trek and cross 5,000 m while trekking further north along the slow-moving Khumbu Glacier. Reach Gorakshep a high pastureland surrounded by mighty mountains.

Ascent 390 m - descent 245 m.

  7-9 hours


Day 11. Lobuche: 4910 m

One of the highlights of the trek is to reach the vantage points of Kala Patthar in the morning. Just below the towering Pumori, it offers some of the closest view of Mt. Everest, nearby mountains around and entire valley of Khumbu. Trek back along the Khumbu Glacier to Lobuche.

Ascent 390 m - descent 640 m.

  6-7 hours


Day 12. Chukhung: 4730 m

Cross Khumbu Glacier and ascent to Kangma La pass. Panoramic views of Lhotse, Nupte Makalu, Cho Oyu and Pumori are fantastic to see. Trek to Chukhung.

Ascent 490 m - descent 670 m.

  7-8 hours


Day 13. Island Peak Base Camp: 5040 m

An easy day of hiking to the base camp of Island Peak. Trek begins with trail crossing a river and a couple of hours of hiking. Preparation for Island Peak begins. Stay in a tented camp.

Ascent 310 m.

  4-5 hours


Day 14. High Camp: 5760 m

Trek to High Camp for acclimatization. Final preparation for Island Peak summit. Stay in a tented camp.

Ascent 720 m.

  4-5 hours


Day 15. Island Peak: 6189 m - Chukgung: 4730 m

The climb to the summit of Island Peak begins after midnight around 3 AM. Cross glacier. Scaling the peak at 6,189 m is the real highlight of the tour. Climb down to base camp and trek back to Chukhung.

Ascent 430 m - descent 1,460 m.

  3-5 hours


Day 16. Tengboche: 3860 m - Deboche: 3710 m

Trek descending down to Imja Valley through the villages of Dingboche, Pangboche and Tengboche to reach Deboche.

Ascent 80 m - descent 1,100 m.

  7-8 hours


Day 17. Monjo: 2835 m

Descending trek to the Phunki to cross the river to climb up again. Reach Namche for a good break before descending again through the pine forest to Monjo.

Ascent 550 m - descent 1,280 m.

  5-6 hours


Day 18. Lukla: 2860 m

Trek back through the pine forest along with glacier water of Dudhkoshi passing the Phakding, Chopling and Chauri Kharka to reach to final trekking destination of Lukla and to celebrate the tour.

Ascent 665 m - descent 580 m.

  5 hours


Day 19. Ramechhap: 474m

Last breakfast in the Everest Area. Time to say goodbye to the trekking crew. Flight to Ramechap and drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

  Flight: 25 minutes

  4 hours


Day 20. Kathmandu

Options for sightseeing to World Heritage Sites/ayurvedic massage or rest in Kathmandu.


Day 21. Flight back home

Breakfast. Free time in Kathmandu and transfer to the airport in time to fly back home.
